How can your County, City, Town or Village share municipal resources to improve services and reduce taxes.

In December 2008, Ulster County received a NYS Local Government Efficiency grant to study opportunities for shared services among municipalities throughout the County.

GOALS of the study: 

►      To create an implementation plan to facilitate greater intermunicipal collaboration and cooperation. 

►      Find beneficial ways to work together to make government more efficient and to save taxpayers’ money. 

If your community has pioneered a new partnership with the Town or Village next door, we’d like to hear about your experience.  Or, you may have a brand new idea for improving quality of service and finding cost-saving economies of scale by joining forces with other municipalities.  We’d like to help put your good ideas into practice! To submit a concept for shared services for your municipality, email it to  municipalsharedservices@co.ulster.ny.us
