FROM: ULSTER COUNTY PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE DATE: May 14, 2004 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 14, 2004 At the May 13th session of the Ulster County Legislature, the legislative body unanimously appointed Ellen DiFalco to fill the vacancy of Clerk of the Legislature formerly occupied by Randall Roth. Several legislators praised Ellen for her hard work and dedication through her 33 years with the county. "Ellen is a very hard working and dedicated individual, who is deserving of this promotion. Ellen will perform well in her new role and will be an asset to Ulster County," stated Chairman Richard A. Gerentine. Chairman Gerentine, Majority Leader Michael L. Stock and Minority Leader David B. Donaldson presented Legislator Alice Tipp, Chairman of the Community Services/General Services Committee, with a Proclamation designating the month of May as Senior Citizens Month in Ulster County. Legislator Alice Tipp, Chairman of the Community Services/General Services Committee, to present two Pride of Ulster County Awards to Jeanne Bittner and Leo Notari in recognition of being named "Senior Citizens of the Year." Legislator Robert Aiello, Chairman of the Personnel/Human Services Committee, to present a Proclamation designating the month of May as Foster Care Month in Ulster County to Glenn Decker, Commissioner of the Ulster County Department of Social Services, and Barbara Sorkin, Deputy Commissioner of Services. Legislator Robert Aiello, Chairman of the Personnel/Human Services Committee, and District 3 Legislator Peter Kraft to present a Proclamation designating the week of May 10th-16th as Cover the Uninsured Week in Ulster County to John Finch, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Benedictine Hospital. The final presentation was made by District 1 Legislators Susan Cummings, Gerald DePew, and Joseph Stoeckeler who presented a Pride of Ulster County award to Mary F. Sheeley, in recognition for her dedication and untiring efforts in supporting the Ellenville Regional Hospital. The next meeting of Ulster County Legislature will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2004, 7:00 P.M. in the Legislative Chambers, Sixth Floor, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York. |
