At the January 7, Reorganizational Session of the Ulster County Legislature, Legislator Richard A. Gerentine was re-elected as Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature. Chairman Gerentine will give his State of County Address at the February 12th session. The Ancient Order of Hibernians Pipe and Drums escorted Chairman Richard A. Gerentine, Majority Leader Michael L. Stock and Minority Leader David B. Donaldson into the Chambers. Reverend Frank Damas of St. Joseph’s Church, Kingston gave the Invocation.

Honorable Marianne O. Mizel and Honorable Mary MacMaster Work swore in the 2004 Legislative Body.

Republicans unanimously backed Michael L. Stock as Majority Leader. David B. Donaldson was elected as the new Minority Leader.

Chairman Gerentine addressed the entire Legislature after yielding the Chairman’s gavel to respond personally to the comments and questions posed to him over setting up the county’s committee structure. "I will consider everyone’s wishes and hopes and desires for committees," stated Gerentine.

The next meeting of the Ulster County Legislature will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2004, 7:00 P.M. in the Legislative Chambers, sixth floor, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York.
