FROM: ULSTER COUNTY PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE DATE: March 21, 2002 Ulster County Purchasing Department Announces: Regional Bid Notification System The Counties of Ulster, Dutchess, Rockland, the City of New Rochelle, the Town of Cortland, and the Pearl River School District have joined forces in creating the Hudson Valley Municipal Purchasing Group (HVMPG) to establish a Regional Bid Notification Service and E-Procurement System to alert and notify businesses within the Hudson Valley of municipal contracting opportunities. Most bids posted will be individual municipal bids; some may be cooperative bids. Participating in the group is open to all municipalities, school districts and other government agencies within the Hudson Valley. Municipalities are encouraged to contact the Ulster County Purchasing Department to inquire about joining the system. Businesses will now only have to visit a single web site of their choice to search for and download municipal bidding opportunities within the Hudson Valley. The system provides instant access to Bids, RFP’s, Quotes and Addenda online. Immediate registration at www.co.ulster.ny.us/purchasing is encouraged. Members of the HVMPG will start posting bidding documents on the new system effective March 25, 2002.Businesses will realize the following benefits from registering on the Regional Bid Notification System:
