Services: District provides a number of primary prevention and intervention programs for students, K-12, in the Kingston City School District.  The school district, with funding from the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and Title IV, provides prevention programming, including Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS), Botvin's Life Skills Training, Skills Streaming, as well as the Primary Mental Health Project (PMHP).  In addition, in collaboration with Ulster County Mental Health, we provide Student Assistance Counselors at the middle and high school levels, as well as participate in Family and Child Early Treatment Services (FACETS) at three elementary sites.

The Prevention Department assists with school staff training, community/school collaboration, as well as preparing and presenting general awareness and educational programs in the areas of youth violence, school safety, teen pregnancy, drug, tobacco and other drug use.
